With research showing Hispanics have a greater incidence of tooth decay than whites, the American Dental Association has launched its annual awareness campaign using an eye-catching infographic.
In a first-ever collaboration with Colgate-Palmolive, the ADA infographic presents telling statistics, including a finding that 59 percent of Hispanic mothers think they can improve their efforts to guide kids to better oral health.
“This campaign speaks directly to Hispanic parents and their desire to care for their families,” Carla Kelly, general manager of U.S. multicultural marketing for Colgate-Palmolive, said. “We want to encourage them to begin and maintain proper daily oral care routines as a family.”
Colgate is incentivizing the “Lead by Example” campaign by donating $1 (up to $40,000) to Give Kids a Smile every time a photo showing someone caring for their teeth is uploaded to social media by the end of the day June 30. The pictures must be shared on Facebook, Google Plus, Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #timetosmile.
