A 2014 inductee into the International College of Dentists was named president of the Florida Dental Association for its 2014-15 term.
Dr. Richard Stevenson of Jacksonville received the honor at the 2014 Florida National Dental Convention in Orlando.
The leadership appointment is one of eight Stevenson has held in the dentistry profession, including president-elect of the Florida Academy of Dental Practice Administration, past president of the Northeast District Dental Association, a consultant to the FDA Government Action Committee and liaison to the Leadership Development Committee and Council on Dental Health. In addition, he is a current delegate to the American Dental Association.
“The FDA is honored to have Dr. Richard Stevenson serve as our president,” past president Dr. Terry Buckenheimer said. “His leadership and commitment will be instrumental in further strengthening our organization and the practice of dentistry in Florida.”
