The Virginia Dental Association (VDA) has announced that a Petition for Rulemaking has been published and that the time frame for the public to comment is open until Aug. 10.
The Petition for Rulemaking was published
on July 11.
The petition seeks to do away with a requirement that forces dentists to post a copy of their registration, issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration, to avoid having the number displayed be used for illegal purposes.
Anyone who wants to submit a comment in support of the petition can go to www.townhall.virginia.gov to view the petition, which is located on the Virginia Regulatory Town Hall website. Click “In progress,” which is in red text next to the Comment Period section. On the following page, click the “Enter a comment” button and that will open the online comment form.
After typing and submitting a comment, it will show up for public view and be reviewed by the Board of Dentistry prior to its meeting in September.
