The Minnesota Mission of Mercy, a dental care event that provides free care to children and adults who face difficulties when it comes to accessing dental care, was recently held on July 22 and 23.
The event was hosted by the Minnesota Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Foundation, in collaboration with the North Dakota Dental Association and the North Dakota Dental Foundation.
The Mission of Mercy event, the fifth of its kind taking place in Moorhead, Minnesota, provided more than $1 million in free dental care to those in need. Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation was once again the signature sponsor of the event, donating $150,000 to the cause for the fifth year in a row.
“This year’s event in Moorhead had long and steady lines of people each day, clearly showing that there are still thousands of people who cannot obtain the dental care they need,” Minnesota Dental Association President Dr. Peter Cannon said. “It is unfortunate that events like this need to occur, but until a long-term solution can be found, dental professionals will continue to work together to ensure access to dental care to those most in need.”
