The Washington State Dental Association (WSDA) has issued a call for its members to write their congressmen, urging them to call upon the HHS secretary to delay the enactment of a final rule related to Obamacare.
This call comes after the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Civil Rights (OCR) released the final rule as part of Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), with obedience to the new rule expected on July 18.
The American Dental Association (ADA) has deemed the final rule unclear after its questions presented to the OCR regarding the rule were not answered.
As it currently stands, the rule will “require that your office post notice of interpreting services available in the 15 most frequent non-English languages spoken in your state. The cost of providing these services would be the responsibility of the dental practice.”
More information about the final rule can be found at www.wsdasource.org.
